Abernethy Softball

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1981, Lance returned home to Conover and began college at Lenoir-Rhyne. Lance and Melissa were still dating, and they attended Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church in Newton. Here, Lance is pictured with the church softball team. Lance played short-stop for four summers while in college.
